Silimed Product Replacement Programme (PSPS)
PSPS is the Silimed Product Replacement Programme, a product replacement guarantee programme for breast implant ruptures due to a manufacturing defect or a Baker grade III or IV capsular contracture.
Silimed will replace silicone gel-filled breast implants with a True Texture micro-textured surface, a surface coated with polyurethane foam (Pure Polyurethane), or Soft Plus implants in the situations detailed in the guarantee.
Frequently asked questions about the Silimed guarantee
PSPS is the Silimed Product Replacement Programme, a product replacement programme for breast implant ruptures due to a manufacturing defect or a Baker grade III or IV capsular contracture.
Silimed replaces the breast implant in the event of:
Rupture of the implant due to a proven manufacturing defect.*
Baker grades III and IV capsular contracture in primary breast augmentation surgeries or in the first breast reconstruction surgery, taking into consideration the following periods counting from the date of the surgery. For the Soft Plus breast implant, the replacement will be exclusively for placement in the sub-muscular plane.**
*Replacement for life in cases of proven breast implant rupture due to a manufacturing defect.
**Up to 10 years for surgeries carried out from 03/05/2017 and up to 6 years for surgeries performed between 01/09/2014 and 03/05/2017 with textured breast implants (TRUE TEXTURE); Up to 10 years for breast implants with a polyurethane foam coating (PURE POLYURETHANE) and breast implants with the SOFT PLUS surface.

* All documents must be legible.
- Dissatisfaction with the size of the implant or the cosmetic result;
- Implant rupture caused for reasons other than a manufacturing defect, such as: rupture caused during a mammogram;
- Baker grade I or II capsular contracture;
- When the reason for the rupture is due to a manufacturing defect or a Baker grade III or IV capsular contracture and you do not have reports/photographs and a medical report as initial evidence;
- When the patient does not present a physical copy of the patient card provided during or after surgery or a copy of the receipt of purchase;
- In cases of non-primary surgery, i.e., revision for augmentation, seroma or reoperation for any other reason;
- Replacement only refers to the product. Expenses incurred from the surgical intervention, including medical services, the hospital, surgeon, anaesthesia and medication, are not covered by the Silimed Product Replacement Programme.
