As I approached my 34th birthday, I found myself doing something that always happens when my birthday gets closer: a retrospective of my own story.
Looking back, I remember the teenager who found a sense of belonging in sports. For many years, I played table tennis and was a competitive, registered athlete. I grew up surrounded by strong women, each different and full of personality. Perhaps that is where my natural care for health, the body, and well-being was born.
The moment I stopped recognizing myself
Even though I have a genetic tendency to gain weight easily, sports and a healthy diet always helped me maintain balance. But it was during my son’s pregnancy that I experienced one of the greatest transformations of my life.
I gained 35 kilos (about 77 lbs), and after that, I struggled for years with the notorious yo-yo effect. It took five years of trying to find myself again, until I realized that it was no longer just affecting my body, but also my emotional health.
I no longer recognized myself in the mirror.
That was when I made a decision that would completely change my life: bariatric surgery. With the weight loss, I shed 40 kilos (about 88 lbs), and along with them, I began to recover something that seemed lost within me: my identity.
Learning to prioritize myself again
Little by little, I started to prioritize myself again. I returned to being active, taking better care of my nutrition, and respecting my body. This new lifestyle brought me health, vitality, and a much kinder relationship with myself.
Three years later, with my weight stabilized and a healthy routine firmly part of my life, I decided to fulfill an old dream: getting breast implants.
A gift to the woman I have become
During my research, I discovered Silimed®. What caught my attention the most was realizing that, besides being a Brazilian brand with a solid history and great respect among plastic surgeons, their implants value the very diversity of Brazilian women’s bodies.
And that is how I decided to treat myself.
On the day I turned 31, I underwent my surgery. I remember thinking that that moment represented much more than an aesthetic procedure. It was the symbol of a new phase of my life and of the woman I was becoming.
It was like looking in the mirror and finally recognizing my own story.
True beauty
Today, when I think about Brazilian beauty, I think of real women, with stories, challenges, phases, and achievements. Women who learn, throughout life, that taking care of the body and mind is also a form of self-love.
The confidence that comes from within transforms everything.
And if there is one thing this journey has taught me, it is that putting yourself first is not selfish. It is self-care. Because when we are at peace
with ourselves, it reflects in our eyes, our energy, and the way we occupy the world.
And, to me, that is true beauty.
Every patient journey is unique. The experiences and outcomes shared reflect one individual’s perspective and may not be representative of the results achieved by others.
