Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Silimed, we recognize that sustainable practices are essential to the long-term success of our business, our communities, and our planet. We are committed to operating in a way that protects and preserves the environment while supporting the well-being of current and future generations.

Commitment to environmental sustainability
Generating photovoltaic energy
Solar panels for clean energy, generating 75% of the energy needed each month for the factory.
Our goal is not just to offer high-quality products, but also to become a benchmark in the industry, driving the change towards a more sustainable future.
As such, we align our strategies and practices to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), actively working to promote health, equality and sustainability.
Our commitment to
Carbon Reduction
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
At Silimed, we recognize the urgent need to address climate change and are committed to reducing our carbon footprint as part of our broader sustainability goals.
We are dedicated to operating in an environmentally responsible manner by identifying, managing, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our operations.

Current Projects
During 2024 we introduced three company leased plug-in hybrid cars for staff travel.
These vehicles travelled a combined distance of 39,137 km, generating 4.04 tCO2e. This
saved an estimated 4.75 tCO2e (54%) compared to travelling in the average car.
As these vehicles were only in use for part of the year, savings are expected to be higher
in 2025.
Building electricity consumption made up just 0.5% of total measured emissions in 2024.
Our office is a relatively energy efficient space, with LED lighting and PIR sensors fitted and all equipment switched off out-of-hours.
Future Projects
When our company car leases reach renewal we will explore the feasibility of switching to battery electric alternatives where possible.
This would achieve a further 59% reduction in emissions per km compared to our plug-in hybrids.
Importing our final product by air was responsible for 38% (24.74 tCO2e) of our measured emissions in 2024, making it the single largest contributing factor to our footprint.
Transporting by air is often necessary, however we recognise that air freight generates significantly higher emissions than sea freight and we will begin to explore how we might introduce shipping into our supply chain in future.
We will continue to measure our emissions annually and put practices in place to
continually improve data quality, including recording distances for all business travel and improving our understanding of waste and homeworking emissions.
Longer-term, we will seek to expand our measurement of Scope 3 categories to better
understand our wider carbon footprint.
Our commitment to
